Atlantis Pool Service offers three sets of options to get your swimming pool up and running for the season, based on your particular needs:

Option 1:  Swimming Pool Opening

(General / Standard procedures.  Spa, heater, caretaker, trough, or water feature requires additional steps.)

  • Remove cover, fold, and place in bag for storage

  • Recess deck hardware (or drain and folder waterbags)

  • Extract and replace deck hardware that is seized and will not recess

  • Install ladders and / or handrails (Shim if deck anchors will not tighten properly) and make sure ladder bumpers are not worn (replace if so)

  • Uncap return outlets and verify wall plates are not cracked (replace if so) and install directional nozzles (wrapped with teflon tape)

  • Remove skimmer gizmo, check skimmer box for cracks, install skimmer basket and weir door

  • Un-winterize pump, filter, salt system.  Replace plugs, caps, basket, lid, pressure gauge, lid gasket, and sight glass, tighten unions,

  • Check pump motor to make sure it hasn't seized over winter.  Disassemble and hand spin if necessary to prevent motor from burning out.

  • Start pump and check for proper operation

  • Prime pump and start system, verify pump primes properly and filter pressure is appropriate

  • Inspect salt system for proper electrical operation

  • Inspect system for leaks at fittings, plugs, pump seal, filter valve, and pressure gauge.  (Stop system and address leak if present.)

  • Check pool for proper flow and circulation

  • Add initial opening chemical dose to shock pool and start the process of clarifying the water

Option 2:  Swimming Pool Opening & Spring Cleanup(s)

  • All elements of swimming pool opening listed above, plus:

  • Return trip(s) to pool after pool opening anywhere from 1 day later to 1 week later depending on condition of pool water at opening.  It is important to allow chlorine shock to start clarifying water prior to attempting cleaning which can stir up algae and sediment and reduce water clarity.

  • Vacuuming, brushing, skimming of pool

  • Cleaning of skimmer baskets

  • Cleaning of pump basket

  • Backwashing of fliter

  • Checking pool water chemistry

  • Addition of necessary chemicals

  • Typically 1 - 3 trips (or as many as necessary) to get pool clean, clear, and ready to use

Option 3:  Swimming Pool Opening & Weekly Cleaning Service

  • All elements of swimming pool opening & spring cleanup listed above, plus:

  • Weekly maintenance trips throughout the season

  • Vacuuming, brushing, skimming of pool

  • Cleaning of skimmer baskets

  • Cleaning of pump basket

  • Backwashing of fliter

  • Checking pool water chemistry

  • Addition of necessary chemicals
